My name is Georgina Hanford Simmons-Gagnon. I am the proud owner and creator of Lone Wolf Mini Creations™. We make beautiful one-of-a-kind, hand- crafted, hand-painted, authentically dressed, 1" Scale Miniature Porcelain Character Dolls and related accessories.

Way back in 1987 I became obsessed with miniatures of all kinds. At that time I lived in Massachusetts, and I started a business called "Elegant Estates Dollhouses and Miniatures™."   Why? Well in 1986, before the miniature insanity hit me, I was visiting friends of mine and I saw that they were building a lovely dollhouse for their granddaughter. Totally intrigued, I coveted that little dollhouse and shortly thereafter received my vry own "Arthur" by Greenleaf® for my birthday. Within a week it was finished and completely decorated, and I was on my way to making mini houses! I took my income tax returns that year and purchased a business license and contacted Greenleaf Dollhouse Company - and a week later I was the proud owner of 25 Greenleaf dollhouse kits!! What fun I had. I was building, decorating, and then taking my creations to doll and miniature shows in Massachusetts. By then I was thoroughly "hooked" on miniatures and began to subscribe to miniature magazines, and dreamed of meeting some of the folks I found inside those covers.

Now to get to the doll part! During those early years, I saw mini dolls at shows, but I didn't like them very much. They were white, pale creatures, with skirts and arms and legs that stuck way out - they looked pitiful. With that in mind, I began to dress "Dawn" and "Princess of Power" plastic dolls - changing their looks, giving them new wigs, and creating dollhouse dolls for little girls everywhere! They were completely unbreakable and very sturdy.  There was little interest for me in porcelain dolls then.  Little did I know my life would change in a couple of years. Here is a picture of my very first doll I dressed.....it is a "Dawn" doll.....

The exquisite flowers you see are hand made and are not for sale with the doll. they are made by Miniatures by Carolyn - Miniature Plants, Flowers, Foods and Other Things too! You can contact Carolyn for your own floral arrangements in beautiful wooden pots, buckets or barrels at Mopntwig@aol.com and tell her Gina sent you!

Change 1 - I moved to California in 1990. What an education! I met some of the world's finest and most talented artisans at shows and started attending porcelain doll classes. At first I made some larger 24" dolls, but they were soooo boring! And you really couldn't do much to them to make them "characters" which I so longed to do PLUS they took up so much room! My teachers introduced me to the miniature doll molds, and then I fell in love with, and still am fascinated with,

"1" Scale Miniature Porcelain Character Dolls!"

Well here it is - Year 2006. And where am I now? Well, I moved from Massachusetts to California and now I'm here - in Seeley Lake, Montana. Still making miniatures, but I have switched from dollhouses (except for my own pleasure) to 1" scale dollhouse porcelain dolls and 11 1/2" porcelain Fashion Lady type dolls! Oh yes, and I did meet most of the folks that I talked about that were in the magazines, and have made some wonderful friends over the years.  I've even had some of my dolls published in some of those same magazines - Dollhouse Miniatures, Dolls in Miniature, Dolls and Miniatures and even Dolls House World in England.

Why do I call myself "Lone Wolf Mini Creations™?" It's an odd name for one who creates dollhouse dolls.  Well, the answer is  simple, for here in Seeley Lake where I live, I am a "Lone Wolf." To some of my friends on the Internet lists, I'm also known simply as "Wolfie." Appropriate for me, as I love the wolves that you can see and hear in Montana. Late at night you can hear their voices as they call to one another or hunt beneath the moon. I'm very blessed to live here where I am. It's a dream come true for me.

Here is a photo of where I live . . . and a picture of me in beautiful Seeley Lake, Montana.

Since April of 1998, we have been perched on this rugged, rocky crag in the Rocky Mountains, in the northwestern corner of Montana where the air is pure, the skies clear, the wind crisp, and the view - spectacular! The beautiful mountain range that you see in the above picture is called the Swan Mountain Range. On the other side of them is the huge Bob Marshall Wilderness Area. One of Montana's lesser known treasures! We surely are in God's country.  We share our meadows with grizzley and black and brown bear, mule and white-tail deer, mountain lions, and other wonderful creatures. The smell of the forest permeates our home like the finest perfume, and our water is so crisp and cold that it almost cuts your lips to drink it! The seasons of the year and the beautiful mountains about us make us proud that Montana truly is the "last best place!" From the top of "Lone Wolf Mountain," we mail-order our unique one-of-a-kind creations to collectors and miniaturists around the world! We ship anywhere on the planet - because the Post Office is at the foot of our mountain, only five moseying miles down that crooked steep road!

January's moon, the moon of deepest winter, is called the Wolf Moon.

It is a time of quiet contemplation, of protection of home and hearth

and of building strength for the months ahead.
