Character Dolls

The dolls on this page are representations of the characters and the costumes in the spellbinding saga called "Gone With the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell......  Following the book's descriptions of the clothing, and using the colors and photos of movie stills and costumes, we try to duplicate as closely as possible the clothing of those times.   The romantic theme of the book was painted against the happenings in the real world at that point in our history.  You can lose yourself in the book AND you can lose yourself in the movie as well!   Here the characters will be but representations, but will tug at your memories of how they looked.  The costumes in the movie were vast - some of which were created and never worn.  We will be incorporating some of those beautiful fashions as well in the future.   Thanks to a friend who is an avid collector of "Gone With the Wind" trivia, we have multitudes of costume information, photos, etc.

My dolls are created from love of this book, movie and other articles just for you!  I hope you enjoy your stroll down memory lane here!  The dolls however, are not for children.  Please visit my Site Map to see why.

Please note that if you pass your mouse over some of the photos, another photo of that particular doll will be shown with different views of it.

"Mr. Rhett!  Mr. Rhett!  Ms. Melonie has done gone and had her baby!  And I helped!"  Prissy has come to inform Rhett about the birth!  She wears her calico dress, with white collar, turban, and apron, white petticoat and white pantaloons.  She is barefoot, but looks like she stopped at Scarlett's jewelry box before she left the house!  Oh no!  But she just wanted to fit in with the crowd down at Belle Watlin's Saloon!

$125.00 USD - $150.00 International

After crying her eyes out all night last night after Rhett left her, Scarlett has pulled herself together and is having a dinner party.  Dressed in a gown - that was made for the movie but not used - in pale and darker green duponi silks with lace accents, emerald and diamond jewelry, with her hair fixed in the latest style, Scarlett waits in the foyer - "jes like a spider" for her guests to arrive.

$150.00 USD - $175.00 International

Scarlett O'Hara Butler - her husband loved her so much that he commissioned a portrait of her to hang in his bedroom.  Dressed in a simple but lovely sapphire blue velvet gown and her beautiful lacy shawl - Scarlett surely was a picture of beauty.  Sapphires adorne her ears and dainty bracelets her arm.  Her black hair in ringlets and curls, she is a vision truly.

The dolls on this page are made of porcelain poured into commercial molds.  However each one is unique and different one from the other and truly are one-of-a-kind dolls.. Men are approximately 6" tall and women are from 5" to 5 3/4" inches tall. Their costumes range from high-quality silks and satins to simple linens or cottons. Some have faux or real fur trim. Metallic trims are made of gold or silver - fabric or metal. Some dolls have silver or gold jewelry fired on. All of the dolls are china painted and have spent many hours of firing time in the kiln.
