The dolls on this page are made of porcelain clay slip using commercial molds - however, they are not cookie-cutter dolls.  Each one is hand painted, posed, and dressed differently - making each a one-of-a-kind doll. Men are approximately 6" tall and women are from 5" to 5 3/4" inches tall. Their costumes range from high-quality silks and satins to simple linens or cottons. Some have faux or real fur trim. Metallic trims are made of gold or silver - fabric or metal. Some dolls have silver or gold jewelry fired on. All of the dolls are china painted and have spent many hours of firing time in the kiln.
