These dolls are !
Sacajawea and Lewis and Clark
- On the Trail
Each doll is authentically
dressed in genuine buckskins.
"I hope I don't have to cook again tonight......"
Sacajawea - of
the Shoshone Tribe - with her husband, led the way to
the Pacific Ocean with Lewis and Clark. Here,
she wears high boots under that skirt, and leggings. Her
overdress is of tanned suede buckskin, hand fringed;
and over her dress has a fringed cape. Her belt
holds a knife in a sheath trimmed
with more fringing. Her earrings are made of mother of
pearl shell. Her
braids are wrapped in strips of red suede and her headband
is of twisted buckskins of tan and red suede with a
feather trim.

"We had better make camp for
the night"
Clark wears a
fringed and collared suede shirt over his brown suede leggings. His
high boots are wrapped with leather strips as was done
in those days, and he has a knife strapped to one leg. He holds
his trusty rifle in one hand and points the way west with
the other.

"West is
that way!"
Lewis
is dressed in a deep brown leather jacket
over a high necked
shirt. His
leather pants are tucked into his fringed boots. He kneels with
his rifle pointing the way west.....
The
above three dolls were on loan to the Seeley
Lake Museum for one year for
the Lewis and Clark Centennial Celebration. Many
people viewed the dolls and enjoyed seeing
them there.

The Chief has come offering
his good will and peace to all far and wide,
dressed in his
traditional
fringed buckskin leggings with breech clout,
and leather-fringed shirt,
his beads around his neck. The chief has long
flowing hair over his shoulders, and is smiling
his very best
smile!!
The Sidekick
is everyone's idea of the hero's friend.....sort
of chubby, outgoing, funny. He can grace your
bunkhouse or corral, hold your horse, etc.

The
dolls on this page are made of porcelain clay slip using commercial molds. They are not cooky cutter dolls however, I strive to make each one of my dolls from any era unique and different one from the other. They are lovingly painted, dressed, posed, wigged so that they are quite the one-of-a-kind dolls that they should be. Men
are approximately 6" tall and women are from
5" to 5 3/4" inches tall. Their costumes range
from high-quality silks and satins to simple
linens or cottons. Some have faux or real fur
trim. Metallic trims are made of gold or silver
- fabric or metal. Some dolls have silver or
gold jewelry fired on. All of the dolls are china
painted and have spent many hours of firing time
in the kiln.
Custom
dolls start at
$125.00 each.
Just specify the color of eyes, skin, hair,
main costume color - and I will create
whatever you
